Derbyshire Lost | Gold 12

T.G. Green Pottery.

“Hello, hello, baby you called? I can’t hear a thing”

August 2012 we decided to explore the T.G. Green pottery site in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. As this is located only a few miles from home it seemed a nice easy place to wonder around. What seemed like an easy day out soon turned out to be problem after problem, starting with the satnav that couldn’t locate it to the belt almost shearing in my car which drove both the power steering and also the fan for the radiator and cooling system. Normally this wouldn’t be too much of a problem in the UK, however this particular day was one of the hottest and the car was constantly just above ‘over heating’

The exploration would have gone better if it wasn’t for my pounding head and the awful humidity, we did get a few cool shots and my fellow explorer managed to find the gap in the fence though I tore my camera bag and jeans on the barbedwire surrounding it.

Update – Lost Gold

A new section featuring images from the first 5 years starting with the very first exploration at the Chesterfield miners rescue centre in Grassmoor (Chesterfield / Derbyshire) Sutton Scarsdale hall will follow over the next few days.

Urban exploration

Urban exploration.

When I started the page that eventually became Derbyshire Lost it was devoted to urban exploration, sadly many of the original photos have now been lost due to damaged hard drives and long forgotten Myspace passwords.

Since the beginning of the year my urge to explore has grown stronger and I would love to return part of this site back to it’s UE roots. I’m currently looking for anybody like minded to join me this spring / summer and help return the Lost. Interested? either send me a message here on WordPress or email derbyshirelostuk@yahoo.co.uk
